Death Stranding Director's Cut, KOODOO

Blade Runner, The Lords of the Rings and Justice League, what do these have in common?

Apart from being born of film and literature geniuses minds, these are all movies that have received a director’s cut.

Death Stranding. This one from a video games genius, also the proud new owner of a director’s cut. But what does a director’s cut mean in the video games world?

We need not speculate as Jay Boor, Head of publishing at Kojima productions has given some insight “Death Stranding Director’s Cut is packed with a ton of new content and enhanced gameplay features. We are introducing more weapons, equipment and vehicles, a variety of new modes, missions and areas to explore, expanded storylines, and enhancements to the UI. We will also be adding new online features including Friend Play and Leaderboards”

This new content is not meant to sit separately from the game, or act as an add on. It was designed from inception to twist through the original game, directly influencing gameplay and the players journey through the world.

Not much else has been said around the storyline and new features, but in true Kojima style, a cryptic video was released. This video is said to contain clues about the director’s cut so check it out here https://youtu.be/q76jhOinT9I

It has been confirmed that Death Stranding Directors Cut will also be fully supported on the PS5. By fully supported, they mean complete integration. Expect Death Stranding to take full advantage of the Dualsense’s features, that includes the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The games audio has been reworked to take advantage of the PS5’s 3D audio capabilities, pulling players deeper into Sam’s world. We can also look forward to reduced load times and two picture modes. Lastly, in true directors cut fashion and in homage to cinema from whence the name comes, a wide screen mode will be made available.

A very Beautiful, Rare and Unique experience. There is nothing like it. It takes quite some time to get used to it, but once you get a grip on the mechanics of the game it all comes together really well. Controls can be a bit clucky at times especially during tight combat situations.

This is definitely not for everyone, but if you’re a hardcore Kojima fan then it’ll be worth your time.
