Sony have just announced a new PlayStation 5 system software update, and it’s a big one!
Remember that talk of 3D audio, and expandable storage?
It is talk no more. Sony have made these, amongst many other updates, live and functional.
Heres a quick run down on what update 2.0 is all about:
- Support for 3D audio. This is limited to TV speakers for now.
- SSD expansion slot is now active. This had been in beta testing for a few months prior to this update.
- Enhanced UX. Icons displayed in the control centre are now customisable. Creating chats has been improved, making it easier to create, manage and delete chats.
- Equalizer control feature for Pulse 3D headsets. Allowing you to select from pre-set settings or customise your own.
- A “Leader” accolade has been added to accolades, for a total of four different accolades.
- Automatic capture. When besting a record, the PS5 will automatically capture this moment for you.
- An updated trophy tracker
- PS Remote Play and PS App updates. These include the ability to stream on mobile data and share your screen.
- PS4 was not left behind. You can now view PS5 trophies on your PS4 console.
- Lastly! An update for the DualSense controller has also been rolled out with this latest update. Get those controllers plugged in!
This is arguably the biggest and most feature packed update yet.
I cant wait to test the 3D audio feature, what are you most excited for?
