Developed by IO Interactive, 007 First Light blends stealth, action, gadgets, driving, charm, and cinematic spy drama into one mission-ready PS5 experience. PlayStation’s hands-on report describes the game as a mix of “intense, cinematic action” with freedom, improvisation, and a more thoughtful spy experience.

The real question is:
Are you ready to become 007?

Become Bond Before He Becomes the Legend

007 First Light introduces players to a younger James Bond: resourceful, skilled, sometimes reckless, and still finding his place in the world of MI6. The game is as a standalone, reimagined origin story where Bond begins as a young Naval air crewman before being pulled into the newly revived Double 0 programme.

This is not just about being the polished Bond we already know. This is about becoming him. You will step into missions across breathtaking locations, drive iconic vehicles, use gadgets, fight with fists or firepower, and choose whether to go silent, go loud, or bluff your way past the enemy.

Your choice, your style, your mission.

Will you sneak through the shadows like a ghost?
Will you charm your way past danger?
Or will you go full action-hero and leave chaos behind?

Stealth, Action, Gadgets & Charm

PlayStation’s hands-on preview highlights exactly why 007 First Light feels like a natural fit for IO Interactive. The developer is known for stealth, planning, cunning, and improvisation, and those strengths are being channelled into Bond’s origin story.

In one mission, Bond uses stealth, cover, tall grass, weapons, Q gadgets, and quick thinking to navigate danger. The Q Lens can highlight enemies and hackable objects, while Bond’s watch includes a laser that can cut ropes, trigger explosions, and help shift the odds in combat.

That means every encounter has that classic Bond flavour:
style, pressure, brains, and just enough chaos to make it legendary.

This is not a simple run-and-gun mission. This is espionage with options.

How would you play it?
Silent agent?
Gadget genius?
Close-combat menace?
Or stylish chaos coordinator?

How Long is 007 First Light?

For players wondering how much Bond they are getting, Insider Gaming reports that the main campaign is expected to land at around 20 hours for the average player. Depending on skill level and difficulty, that could shift closer to 15 hours or stretch toward 25 hours.

For completionists, the mission does not end there. The game also includes Tactical Simulator missions, which allow players to replay selected missions with modifiers, new challenges, and rewards. Insider Gaming suggests that with Tactical Simulator missions, collectibles, trophies, and completionist play, the total experience could reach 30 to 40 hours.
