Women's Gaming Month
Gaming comes in many shapes and forms, it may be tabletop games, a pack of cards, a ball and a patch of grass, or as is the case with KOODOO, video games. This diversity in gaming reflects in the appeal of gaming. Every single one of us has played a game in one of its forms, even if we were not aware of it. As video gaming has rapidly grown over the 30 years past, we have not necessarily seen the diversity found in other forms of gaming follow through to video games.
The reasons for this are complex and broad. It may be a reflection of broader societal norms that cross borders, time-zones and cultures. Perhaps it is a mirroring of gaming culture which can be as septic as it is wholesome. Here at KOODOO we are not a suspicious bunch, we do not mind breaking mirrors, 7 years of bad luck be damned!
As Bob Dylan once sang, the times they are a-changin. The video games industry and community are singing along. The characters we become on our journeys are varied, the stories told reflect experiences lived, and imagined across the spectrum.
In celebration of gaming and woman, KOODOO have put together a list of women in gaming, some you may be familiar with, some may be new to you. Each of them is worth is your time, so check them out!
While you’re out there, let us know of any gamers you think we should be keeping an eye on. Tag them and KOODOO, spread the love.
