A Galaxy of Geek Awaits

South Africa’s longest running gaming expo is just around the corner, and we’re joining in the celebration of its 17th year. That’s right, rAge 2019 kicks off between 27 - 29 September, and you’ll be able to find us there: celebrating in a galaxy of geek.
This year appears to be a bit different as well, as Telecommunication giant Vodacom has recently joined the mix, and their partnership with rAge promises to be exciting. Vodacom’s involvement and investment within the gaming-entertainment space has been steadily growing of late, and we’re curious to see just where everything goes.
In relation to the agreement, Vodacom’s Chief Officer of Consumer Business, Jorge Mendes, had this to say, “Gaming and eSports is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in the world, and South Africa is home to many gamers with an intense passion for it.” He had gone on to say, “Vodacom’s vision is to become the Gamers Network of Choice”
These words are certainly encouraging, and Vodacom has already made significant strides towards both funding and growing local gaming initiatives. It would appear that the next logical step would be to solidify themselves within the space, and we’re certainly eager to see how things unfold.
